As we head into the Fall and Winter season, we are also heading into the height of the travel season.
With the holidays approaching (faster than I would like) lots of folks are getting their holiday plans in order. With travel comes thoughts of safety as well as thoughts of ways to make your travel easier, or maybe lighter or even ways to make it more efficient.
I have put together a list of items that I use and have found on Amazon that can help make your travels easier in one way or another.
Packing Cubes - Packing cubes will help keep you and your luggage organized. You will honestly be surprised at how much you can get into these different sized cubes. Once you have the cubes packed it's just like puzzle pieces going into your luggage. Once you are in destination you can then pull out your cubes and slide them into the drawers and hang what needs to be hung. The bonus with cubes is that most sets come with a shoe bag as well as a laundry bag, to keep you organized.
Apple Air Tags - If you have an Iphone or an Ipad I would get a set of 4 and have them in a few of my key pieces, like each of the suitcases, my purse or even a camera bag if you have. Basically, anything that has the potential to get left behind somewhere...yikes! This way you have the ability to track your possessions and hopefully have a better chance of getting them back.
Reusable Toiletry Bottles - I love these so that you do not have to transport full size bottles, this will save you some space as well as weight in your luggage. Because you are using your own favorite products you can finish off any unused product once you get home before cleaning them out and storing them till your next vacation. No waste of product and you will cut down on your expenses of buying all the small travel size products as well. A win/win for the environment!
Clear Reusable Packs - These are great for traveling and the sky is the limit on what you can use them for. Great for make-up, toiletries, perfumes, hair accessories, medications and so much more. You can easily see what is in each pack without having to empty it out to find something. Light weight and easy to pack.
Noise Cancelling Headphones - What can I say but they are a must especially on long haul flights. Block out the noise and the babies and stay focused on your tunes or your movies.
Travel Wallet - It is so important to protect your identity while traveling. Have a travel wallet with RFID protection, so you can keep your documents like your passports and credit cards safe, giving you peace of mind. Don't forget to keep a pen in here as well in case you have to fill out any forms. You can also wear this particular one around your neck keeping your hands free.
Portable Laundry Suds - These are so easy to use if you want to quickly wash or refresh something while away on vacation. If you pack light or are limiting your clothing options because you are using a carry on only, then these are for you. You can quickly refresh a few items in a clean sink, and you are ready to go.
Luggage Tags - Luggage tags can be fun as a way of identifying your luggage when it is coming around the carrousel, but they can also be useful in case your luggage gets lost. I suggest just filling out your name and maybe a cell phone number to make it easier for the airlines to connect with you should they need to. Also, make sure they are sturdy, I feel you need a little more than just the plastic ones now a days for better durability.
One last tip I would add - when you are travelling download any apps that your airline, cruiseline or tour operator might offer, this will help keep you up to date with any changes that might happen along the way. When my clients are travelling, I provide them with an app that gives them full access to their itinerary, all their travel documents as well as airlines so they can be kept up to date just in case. The bonus with the app I provide is my clients can connect with me via a chat button so we can stay connected while they are away should they need my assistance. Apps are awesome!
These are just a few suggestions to help keep you organized and enjoying your vacation even more (if that's possible), but ones that can make a difference in your travel experience as well.
You can make a small investment in these items once and they can be used for many trips to come, be it a weekend getaway or a long haul trip.
Happy Travels!
