Procrastination…Do you or don’t you? I am a huge procrastinator on things that I can procrastinate with…lol BUT your health should not be one of those things that you procrastinate on!

I have been wanting to get on my own personal wellness journey, for what seems like a few years now. Well, let’s be honest, it has been at least 2 years. My doctor told me back in the Spring of 2022 that I was prediabetic, I asked for 6 months to lose some weight and then see what the numbers look like, and she said sounds good.

Fast forward to May 2024 and I have not made any serious effort to lose weight, I have been full of excuses that’s for sure, I just went back to the doctors to get my bloodwork done again to see where I stand, get a baseline for moving forward. Thankfully my numbers have not changed much at all when compared to my numbers of 2 years ago, so I am very thankful and taking my health a lot more seriously now.

Feeling all the aches and pains over the last 2 years has been a real eye opener, never mind the gut issues and the brain fog…oh the brain fog! After all you can only avoid your health for so long and then you need to get off your keester and take care of yourself, because once again, let’s be honest…no one else will OR can do it for you!

So, what am I changing? Well, I am cleaning up my eating that’s for sure. I have joined WW online and focusing on eating the healthy options. More fruits, protein, veggies, and less carbs and sweets. I will have to look for creative ways to take care of my sweet tooth. Those who know me know, sweets are definitely my downfall. I would rather have that piece of chocolate cake as my dinner instead of after dinner.

Seeing as my knees hurt (which I believe is weight related) I have started using my recumbent bike to get some cardio going. I started off with just 20 minutes, because trust me that was enough! and I have worked up to 30 minutes. My next stage will be to make the 30 minutes a little more intense, you know, not as many breaks! I have also added in a small routine with free weights for my upper body.

I am proud to say I am not on any prescriptions…YET! I would like to keep it that way as long as I can. I have started taking a couple of natural supplements, one is called Morning Complete to help with gut issues, I have been on that for about 2 months and I’m having great success with it. One scoop mixed with water every morning and after about 3 weeks I did notice things changing for the better…thankfully!

The second thing I have added to my daily routine is a product called Reboot, this has made a huge change in clearing up my brain fog. I am now more alert and more productive, which is so nice when there always seems to be multiple projects on the go.

Now I know this whole process will all take time before I see measurable results. I am a very results motivated person, so I hope I have the patience to stick with it. I know there will be hurdles along the way just like any process, and I will deal with them as they arise and make the best decision for me in that moment.

Staying focused for the long haul is my end game. Those of you who know me feel free to check in on me and nudge me along the path to success.

I have recently started a Facebook Page for women looking for health and beauty tips both inside and out, and I am going to be more active in the group now that I am pumped. Feel free to join the group and let’s share motivational and inspirational quotes, ideas, tips, and tricks that can help all women alike.

I look forward to seeing you there…

Of course, I sit here wishing I had started this journey 2 years ago, I wanted to enter my 60’s feeling the best that I could, and I will admit I did let myself down! So now it is time to get motivated and make the small changes necessary creating a better life and give me the energy that I need and desire to get through each day feeling like it’s been the best day ever.

If you want to join me on a wellness journey, then please feel free to join the Facebook group and we can all help to keep each other accountable as we live our best life… I’m ready to get my life back, are you?

It's our time...Let's do this!
