As we mature it's no secret that we loose elasticity in our skin and that does include our face. So, you may notice that gravity does take hold and our facial features are not as tight as they once were. This is where a good contour will save the day and have those around you wondering what you’ve been doing.

A contour is a darker shade of your base make up that you strategically put on. Don’t panic when you see all these dark lines on your face…lol once you blend it in you will see more definition to your features.

Here is a bit of a map showing where to place your contour…

-Your forehead just below the hair line, from temple to temple – with your brush use a small circular motion going towards the hair line.

-Along the jaw line just under your chin – with your brush use small circular motions down the neck.

-Under your cheekbones from your hair line to the middle of your cheek – with your brush use a small circular motion up towards the hair line.

-Down each side of your nose and across the tip of your nose if you want to make it look a little shorter – with your brush use small circular motions along each side of your nose to blend it in.

Adding Contour to your morning routine can be beneficial in many ways. Contour will enhance the definition of your jawline as well as your cheekbones, adding dimension with shadowing and highlights, giving you a more sculpted look. By strategically shading and highlighting areas of the face, you can create the illusion of lifted and firmer skin.

A Contour Map for your face

Just like you want to make sure you have the right shade for your foundation, the same goes for your contour. You can use contouring technique to address specific areas of concern, such as a softer contour for a more natural look or a more dramatic contour for special occasions.

Now that I have switched to a cream make up, I see the big difference especially as the day wears on, my makeup is still looking good, which makes me feel better and more confident.
