They say age is just a number…do you agree or disagree? As each year passes, so does our journey with beauty. Every laugh line, every experience, and every moment etched its unique tale on our faces.

Whether you're a makeup enthusiast or a minimalist, the way you approach cosmetics can help you evolve gracefully with each passing year.

Hoping this is both informative and empowering. Join me on a journey of self-discovery as we delve into some easy tips to keep you looking your best.

Here are five easy tips for applying makeup as women age:

1. Skincare First: Start with a clean and well-moisturized face. As we age, our skin tends to become drier, so using a hydrating moisturizer is essential. Consider incorporating anti-aging serums or creams with ingredients like hyaluronic acid or retinol into your skincare routine to promote a smooth base.

2. Lightweight Foundation: Choose a lightweight and hydrating foundation to avoid settling into fine lines and wrinkles. Pick formulas with buildable coverage that allow you to even out your skin tone without looking heavy. You want the overall look to be natural. BB creams or tinted moisturizers are great choices for a natural finish.

3. Focus on Eyes: Pay extra attention to your eyes, as they are often the focal point. Use an eyeshadow primer to prevent creasing and apply neutral tones to enhance your eye shape. Consider using eyeliner to define your eyes, and don't forget a lengthening or volumizing mascara to open up your gaze. Be careful with the false eyelashes, I know it is the latest craze and I do often wonder why some gorgeous women feel the need to use them, when they can just look so unnatural.

4. Soft and Defined Brows: As we age, eyebrows can thin or lose definition. Fill in sparse areas with a brow pencil or powder in a shade close to your natural brow color. Avoid harsh lines and opt to fill them in softly for a more youthful frame, a more natural look to frame your face gracefully.

5. Choose Creamy Blush and Lip Colors: Cream-based products work well for aging skin as they provide a dewy finish without settling into fine lines. Use a creamy blush to add a youthful flush to your cheeks. When it comes to lips, opt for moisturizing lipsticks or tinted lip balms to prevent a dry appearance.

I’m not sure about you but keeping a natural glow is what I aim for in my day-to-day look. A night out on the town or a special function is a different story for sure, then it’s all hands-on deck...lol

Remember, these tips are just guidelines, and makeup is a personal expression of your style. Always experiment and find what works best for you. Embracing your natural beauty at every age is the key to a more confident and radiant you.
